This breeding colony was registered with the CARES program for critically endangered fish on February 28, 2023, and confirmed by Dr. John Lyons, Ph.D

You will receive 6 unsexed fry of this critically endangered goodeid. These fish are approximately 1/2 inch long and are 8 weeks old.

X. doadrioi are listed as critically endangered in the C.A.R.E.S program for endangered and or extinct fish. They are endemic to San Marcos, in Jalisco Mexico.

These fish give birth to live young that are born with an umbilical cord. In a heavy planted tank, these fish rarely predate their young. This species flourishes in hard water. I recommend placing a small amount of crushed coral in the aquarium for ph stability. Minimum tank requirements for a group of this size would be a 30 gallons with excellent filtration and water flow.
